Reasons Why You Should Not Give Up
Sometimes, life comes with it a lot of misfortune as well as goodies. When the misfortune seems to outweigh the achievements you have made and still want to make, you may feel discouraged. In reaction to the disappointment, you are moved to take some action.
In certain occasion, you may feel like giving up, regretting the reasons for your existence or at worst threaten to do something that would cost your life. If only you knew the reasons you should not give up, I am sure, you would have a positive change of mindset.
Below are 6 Reasons Why you should not give up;
- Being alive today is not a mistake. In whatever you do, have it in mind that the life you have at the moment is not a mistake, rather it is for a purpose which you need to achieve. If you think you have nothing to be thankful for, take some time and visit a hospital. When you get there, you will see so many people suffering. You will see so many people in critical condition. Most of them are being fed through pipe or tiny tubes. They only eat liquid food. They live in fear of the thought of their condition becoming better or worse. If you are sick or disabled, and you hate yourself for being how you are, just think back and ask yourself if you are better than your mates that have passed away. Many of them died at infancy, some not quite long ago, whereas the rest died even before they were delivered. Does it really mean you are better off than them?
- You have so much to do with such a little time. There is this common thing a lot of people say, "there is time". Most times, you find yourself entangled in so many activities or responsibilities that you begin to look for an escape route, or try to distract yourself by doing something else you feel may make you forget the work load pilled up for you, or at best, feel relaxed. On the long run, when the time to do all those things come, you begin to wander about like someone who is lost, searching for means to find his way. Distractions are inevitable in your daily living. It takes self-discipline to know what you ought to do and do it. Whenever you do what you should do at the right time, there is no way you can regret your actions. It is only failure to accomplish set responsibilities that breed regret and discomfort.
- Your deformity or challenge serves as your strength, not your weakness. First of all you need to accept yourself however you are. Tell yourself the truth. Find out things that are not good or you. Avoid them. Then, do the ones that are good for you and makes you happy. You already know your capabilities and weaknesses. So, you are at a better place to utilize them.
- You should not give people more reasons to belittle you. Already, there are some people that believe you are a Never-Do-Well. You need to prove them wrong beyond any reasonable doubt. You need to stand back on your feet. Be in charge and control of your life, not others doing it for you.
- Many people are looking up to you. Both family and friends are looking up to you. Even if you do not have any of them, then do it for yourself. Apart from your family and friends, there are so many other people who are looking up to you- people who in one way or the other are affected by your way of life, be it positive or negative. You may not even know them. These people may be looking up to you as their only hope or as a role model. Your actions can either give them hope or make them give up.
- You just can't give up! For the fact that you have gone this far in life, you just can't give up. You have lost and gained so much to quit now. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. So, keep hope alive. Put in more effort. Do not give up.
