The best way to deal with heartbreak and feel like it never happened
In one way or the other, a lot of people have been disappointed and let down by people they call friends, lovers, parents, siblings, or even colleagues. When this happens, the usual phrase "he broke my heart" or "she broke my heart" comes up.
First of all, when you are heartbroken, the first feeling you get within you is that of anger. You are angry and disappointed that something like that could happen to you. Then, you suddenly develop a feeling of hatred towards the person that let you down. The next thing that happens is this- you start thinking back, recounting everything that had happened between you two, how you have been so good to him or her, how you have stopped at nothing but to sacrifice and be good to him or her. Then, you begin to wonder and ask yourself, "why me"? While this is happening, you begin to feel a breakdown or weakness in your body system. To an extent, you feel so lost that you begin to wonder if it was actually your fault or not.
Some people may not take this too bad, while others would actually lock themselves up crying, listening to music that remind them of their lover(in terms of people in a relationship), in some cases, they find it very difficult to either sleep or concentrate in anything they are doing, or at worst, they become violent and take the anger out on anyone that comes their way. Even when they go out, they tend to always wallow in what had transpired. Their mood will be so gloomy and discouraging that they avoid any contact with people, most especially someone that is connected to their heartbreak, or break up.
At a point, they may come back to apologize for the way they treated you, or ask you to take them back. In some cases, the apology and acceptance is taken well, while other times, it is not-the two parties go their different ways angry or happily. All these I term as unnecessary...
As far as life is concerned, you do not need to go through all that, most especially when it has happened to you over and over again. You deserve to live a happy life devoid of break ups and heartbreak.
People treat you the way they do because you let them. If you do not give anyone the opportunity to make you feel lesser than yourself, there is no way you would feel that way.
Whenever you depend on someone, or show a person in any way that you rely on him or her or need their help to succeed in a particular thing, it is only natural for them to want to take something else from you, as a reward for the effort they put into you, or even the knowledge they impacted on you.
All you need to do is to realize that no matter how insignificant some people may think you are, you have a lot of things to achieve. Just as the popular saying goes, "the way you dress is the way you will be addressed", act the way you want people to treat you. Make efforts to improve yourself. Even when people see you as worthless, give yourself reasons to believe that you worth a lot.
Finally, you should know that no one is perfect. You must channel your mind and reasoning in such a way that you would realize that nothing is steady on earth, and no relationship is perfect, or let alone lasts forever(even marriage). You need to stop believing that you can predict people, because, sometimes, you do some things that ordinarily you would not do. You need to understand that anyone is capable of anything. When you do so, there is no way anything someone does would move you to feel shattered or brokenhearted.
