If Only I Knew…

This is a True life Story of James... It all began when my father started abusing me because of my poor academic performances. I know I am not so good when it came to studies, but I had already told my father that I wanted to go into trading. The idea of trading turned his spirit against me the more. This is because, as his first son, he wanted me to study medicine and become a doctor. Due to the fact that I had lost hope, and was tired of the ill treatment I got from my father, I had to do something that would turn his heart and attention away from me. I thought and thought, but nothing came to my mind. In school, I would always be alone.   Then, one day, Jude approached me. He talked to me about living a free life – a life free from bullies and intimidation of any kind, especially from my father. My mother is late. So, the only person I had who is as close as family to me is my father, as I am his only child. After considering all that Jude had told me, I decided to gi...

Humility, a virtue that opens closed doors

As I sat down in church today during service, my attention was diverted to the children that left the church together. They were two girls and a boy. I was sitting right opposite the entrance door. While they were outside, one of the girls pulled up her pink flowered short gown. She removed her small panties, bent down low and started urinating. She faced the entrance of the church, such that everyone inside could get a clear picture of her, but, in her innocence, she didn’t mind. The children should be between 5 and 7 years old. When the first small girl was done, the second one followed suit, doing the exact same thing the first did, smiling innocently to her friends while urinating. Then, came the small boy. He backed the church entrance, standing and urinating. He channeled his urine to go so high, that one may begin to wonder if he was actually passing urine out or playing with it. Then, it struck me. Immediately, I remembered what was written in the scripture about liv...

Friendship with Others

Imagine how your world would be when you have no friends, when the ones you call friends desert you, when your parents and your loved ones leave this life, and you are left alone to toil and fend for yourself. Imagine how stiff, lonely and sad you'd become each time you remember that you have no one to call your own. If you find this hard to do, you can as well engage in this experiment; For a day, take a decision not to speak to or associate with anyone, both in your home, school, work place, etc. Do not even watch the television or listen to the radio. Just distant yourself from anything or anyone that has life... then, you will be able to understand the impact the next person has on you. It is natural for one to have conflict and misunderstanding with another once in a while. But, when the issue develops to a level or stage that can not be settled, it then becomes a problem. Having clashes with others helps you in some cases to remain sane, and the best part of it is when ...

This is just the Gospel Truth

Often times, we talk about our destiny and future, but we do not know what it entails. The outcome of one's actions and inactions in a long run is what we refer to as his destiny. Confused? You shouldn't be. Your destiny lies in your hands. No particular person is created to be successful, and another a failure. You are created equal with every other person. As long as you are a being that is living, God has given you the freedom to choose any path that suits you, bearing in mind the reality of causes and effects, which are consequences to your actions. In the same way, he gave our first parents (Adam and Eve) the freedom of choice. He told them what it would cost them if they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Yet, they chose to damn the consequences and ate from the forbidden tree. Have you ever wondered how the world would have been if Adam and Eve didn't eat the forbidden fruit? The world would be perfect. No suffering and pain. No worries. Everyone w...
