The Best Way To Live Out Your New Years’ Resolutions From Jan. to Dec.
Out
of the 90% of people all over the world who make New Years’ resolution(s); 80%
of them do not achieve half their resolution(s) by the half of the year, 7%
exceed half of the year and even close
to the end of the year, whereas only 3% of them fulfill all their new years’
resolution(s).
This
fact above which was retrieved from personal observations continues to beg the
reason; Why?
I
have outlined below the Four major reasons why people do not accomplish their
new years’ resolution(s); you inclusive. The reasons are as follows:
1. Too
many resolutions: This is a major mistake a lot of people make. They make a
list of Dos and Don’ts, forgetting the fact that they cannot be jack of all
trade and master of all. New Years’ resolution should be something that you
really need to stop.
2. Lack
of Meditation: Meditation is essential in the life of a human being. There
should be a time, once in a while when you sit in the comfort of your time and
space and think good thoughts on how to better your life. But, so many people
fail to do this. That is why there is a saying that goes thus; an unexamined
life is not worth living. When you do not stop and think back to know how and
where to improve your life, things would always turn out negative for you.
3. Giving
Excuses When The Road Becomes Tough: It is true that nothing good comes easy,
but making excuses or giving yourself reasons to believe that failure is an
option is not advisable.
4. Lack
of Self Control: No one is perfect, but just strive to be perfect. You should
be able to make decisions about your life and stick to it. You should be the
one in charge of your emotions and not the other way round.
In
order to live out your new years’ resolution(s) from start to end without any
falter, you should do the following:
1. Meditate:
Take some time and think your life through. Ask yourself; From January to
December, what are those things I have done and I am proud of? What are the
ones I am not proud of? Did it affect me or others negatively? If yes, then,
you really have to change it. That becomes your resolution.
It
is also important to note that making New Years’ resolution(s) and keeping to
them (or it) is usually more effective when you have a few list of things to do
(one or two), so as to enable you give enough time and dedication to it (them).
2. Pray:
You may take advantage of this, but prayer is essential in the life of every Christian.
John 15 vs. 5 says that cut off from God, you can achieve nothing, and another
part of the scriptures says that you should hand over our plans to God, and
they would come out successful. So, you should pray over your New Years’
resolution(s) to turn out positive.
3. Be
Dedicated: Always bear in mind that you have set out on a journey of fulfilling
your resolutions. So, do not stop until you do so.
4. Take
Control Over Yourself: It is said in the scriptures “Man shall not live by
bread alone”. So, you must not always try to satisfy your flesh. It is true you
are not perfect, but even if you fall along the way, do not be discouraged.
Keep moving on. Do not Stop!
As
you do all these, I wish you well on your journey to becoming a better You!
Happy
New Year in Advance!
